Well I am in the works of a few projects. Most of my attention has brought me away from ze internetz as of late. Mainly work, (Yes I know I’ve used this excuse for the past two years). But there is another reason why Procrastination is the theme of this month. That’s right it’s THE HOLIDAY SEASON!! Because we’re not allowed to say the word Christ in public. Ahh Jesus!, I said Christ! God Dammit, I said Jesus! Holly Mother and Joesph, I said God Dammit! You know what! You know What!????

This months theme is procrastination. Because everyone is too busy to do normal stuff because we gotta do all this stuff like; buy gifts, shoveling sidewalks, making dinner arrangements, worrying if your job will still be there tomorrow and of course making sure you can pay for all that shit!! This is the time of year where suicide rates are the highest, more people get divorced, and more companies decide to lay off there employees in fear that they gotta pay there dammed Christmas bonuses!

To many people Christmas is Hell. But to just as many it’s the exact opposite. Christmas is the time of year where the kids run around wondering what there gifts will be and we all get to reunite ourselves with out family. We get to remind ourselves that after it’s all said and done it’s not that bad, maybe there’s some hope in life after all. I am not the type that like Christmas, I used to be, but I grew up and I started to realize how fake this whole holiday thing is. In the end all holidays were created by the Catholic Church to help Pagan worshipers to convert over to Catholicism. There isn’t a single reference in the Bible that says we half to go through any of this, and yet we still do. You know why? Because the Catholic leaders procrastinated in changing it back until it was too late and now we’re stuck with it.

Procrastination is rampant in our society, hell we even have a political party DEDICATED to procrastination. The F*cking Conservative party!!! (I live in Canada BTW) What’s there policy on the recession? They say their gonna wait and see what the economy does, they believe that the ALL MIGHTY INVISIBLE HAND of Capitalism will fix it all by itself. RIIIGHT and I’m just gonna sit on my ass at home and hope that the invisible dollar will pay my bills for me! Conservative means “Resistant to change”, therefore the Conservative party loosely translates to “meh.. I’ll change it later.”. the P.C. party is even worse. P.C. is Progressive Conservative. Progressive means “favoring change or reform”, which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Conservative! If any sense where to be made of the term then it would be to be “Favoring Reform” to be “Resistant to change”. So Progressive Conservative loosely translates to “Hell no! The only thing I’m changing is rules just to make sure that I have to do even less!!”.

Everybody procrastinates, hell I’m horrible at it. I go to Zellers and the place is FULL of people getting there Christmas Gifts less than a week before Christmas, (I would know, I was too). Most people I know have a maxed out credit card or loan somewhere because someone gave them the option to pay it later. I believe it’s part of human nature to delay things, usually we do it out of fear. If some one asks you if you’d rather have something bad happen you now of later, you would almost certainly choose later. It is part of our instincts to prioritize now over later, because if now isn’t taken care of well, there wont be a later.

In the end I’d have to say that the instinct of procrastination is just that. An instinct. But just like all instincts we need to learn how to control them. Procrastination is good, because if you try to deal with everything all at once you’ll go nuts, people need to slow down and deal with there lives 1 minute at a time. However much like many other instincts, in excess it can also be quite bad, Being late, forgetting to clean, not taking care of a bad situation, or relationship right away can be quite disastrous. However my main advice would be this, Don’t worry about it! Worrying will just make you procastinate more, and that will just make things WORSE!!

Just go to the mall and buy those dammed gifts for those dammed kids! If you don’t do it know that line to the till will only get bigger!!
