Red Dwarf Returns!

Posted by David on Oct 15th, 2008

This is about a month old, but it’s and episode of Robert Llewellyn’s youtube blog where he mentions something
about a new Red Dwarf “something”, it also has Leo Laporte in it.

Further investigation detals that it is supposedly two new episodes of Red Dwarf, followed by two other specials.
The shows will broadcast sometime in 2009 and, if successful, could pave the way for further Red Dwarf  TV projects.
Thanks to movie and broadcaster wrangles, Grant Naylor haven’t been in a position to produce new Red Dwarf
since Series VIII went out to audiences of over eight million in 1999.
This exciting development suggests a new and shiny future for everyone’s favourite sci-fi comedy.
I will now resume screaming like a little school-girl.

Jared showed me this video a few days before the Animethon and since it was pretty funny, I figured I’d share it with you all.

CollegeHumorTV looks into the lives of the Street Fighter combatants, 10 years later…

Sharon Apple, From Sci-Fi to reality.

Posted by Clint on Jul 28th, 2008

OK While looking up the artist that did this odd, yet catchy song from last week, I discovered something…
IT WAS A ROBOT!!! The voice actress Hatsune Miku is nothing more than a AI designed by Yamaha’s synth lab. Wow! The reality of there being a Sharron Apple type Artificial Voice actress is here… To bad Miku kinda sounds like crap. BUT This is mealy the beginning. 5 years from now and we won’t be able to tell the difference. So… does this mean Japanese Techno will get better or worse???
OMG S.R.W. game music will DEFINITELY get worse!

Here’s a few vids I sorted through that didn’t completely suck…
vid 1 the source of the vid above
vid 2 the song on the dancing MP3 player
vid 3 lol totoro

Posted by Clint on Jul 27th, 2008

One night a few weeks ago I started a random conversations with a few guys in a Humpty’s over a Crane Game there and how to actually win something on it (I used info from an ep of Systm), then we started talking about Anime and then YouTube, and eventually this vid came up. Since it made me ROTFL I figured I’d share it with all of you.

Ok this Rolly thingy is cool!

Posted by Clint on Jul 22nd, 2008

Walking by the sony store I noticed that the Rolly is now availible in Canada. I figured I’d share what this thing is to my fellow Canadians, it’s basically a Haro-like Robot that dances to MP3s. Too bad the price for this sucker is $399.99; else I might actully of bought the sucker. Still though, for $400 it’s not that bad, If I was a robotics enthusiast I would probably consider this quite a bargin.

I got these videos from Youtube, and as always there IPod compatible.

OMG!! MY EYES!!!

Posted by Clint on Jun 16th, 2008

OK apparently some sites and forums have credited me for making this vid. I would just like to say that no I did not make this vid. (frankly I wish I was that good at drawing) I got it from Youtube and thought I should back it up to my site in case youtube decides to delete it for some unknown reason (which they did) above is the youtube version which is where I ripped this from.

Hardy Heron IS OUT!! Ubuntu 8.04

Posted by Clint on Apr 24th, 2008

Woot the new version out, and with it are a few cool features., most importantly the Gnome Virtual File System and the NTFS extension for the boot loader.
What does this mean you ask. well…

1. The GVFS makes using windows file shares just as easy as it is in windows.

2. the new bootloader allows you to boot linux FROM YOUR WINDOWS DRIVE WITHOUT HAVING TO REFORMAT OR PARTITION A THING!!!!
It saves all of ubuntu to a few files on your c: drive. Fucking Hard Drive Emulation!!

Here are a few more vids I pulled from YouTube..
(once again you need the latest version of Flash for these)

this one shows how you can take advantage of the VM optimizations to do some neat things like run windows seamlessly in linux.

and these are just cool effects
